Beautiful flowers and trees to honor soldiers buried in a foreign land
The world's only United Nations military cemetery is the resting place of more than 2,300 veterans from 11 countries who participated in the Korean War under the auspices of the United Nations. It was established in 1951 to inter the remains of fallen soldiers. There are monuments and memorial towers of participating nations throughout the park, as well as a memorial hall with a video explaining the park and a memorial hall with photos of UN troops during the war. The park is also famous for its double cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring and fall foliage in autumn, but be aware that unauthorized access to the cemetery and lawn is restricted.
