2014 DITTO Festival ‘Finding Mozart’

There are two artists proudly presented by Deutsche Grammophon's Yellow Lounge, one of the events that rocks the classical music world. One musician is Francesco Tristano, who is famous for his multi-faceted talent, covering from classical to electronic music.The other is Alice Sara Ott who has released consecutive albums from DG, 2010 ‒ she has recorded the complete Waltzes of Chopin, the first Piano Concertos of Liszt and Tchaikovsky, BeethovenPiano Sonata and MussorgskyPictures at an Exhibition. The collaboration of these two pianists is being a hot issue and they are visiting Korea as a part of their tour in June.
Unrestricted to genres, their flexibility will shine out in the duo program. The repertoire is for two pianos: they will begin with Ravel's Bolero (originally an orchestral piece, arranged by Tristano for two pianos), and will perform Debussy/Ravel's three nocturnes, Ravel's La Valse, Stravinsky's the Rite of Spring (also an orchestral piece originally). Last February, a concert ofTristano, Ott and AviAvital, a renowned mandolin player, were broadcast at Arte with extreme attention.They will continue their performance at the Klavier-Festival Ruhr in May, the Asia tour in June, and the London Southbank Centre’s International Piano Series for 2014/15 season.
