Yo-Yo Ma & The silk Road Ensemble
The Silk Road Ensemble and Yo-Yo Ma, Artistic Director will return to Korea to celebrate the Silk Road Project's 15th anniversary.
The SILK ROAD PROJECT is a nonprofit arts and educational organization established under the world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 1998. The Silk Road Ensemble was formed in 2000 as a way of bringing together innovative performers and composers from more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe, and the Americas who are dedicated to celebrating diverse musical traditions and developing a new multi-cultural repertoire. Developing new music is a central undertaking of the Silk Road Project, which has been involved in commissioning and performing more than 60 new musical and multimedia works from composers and arrangers around the world.
In celebration of its 15th anniversary, the innovative group returns to Asia with a program of works from Korea, China, Japan, Thailand and the United States.
They will perform on Tuesday, October 28 at Seoul Arts Center and on Wednesday, October 29 at Daejeon Arts Center.
