Island at the End : 2150
Untitled Road
2025. 9. 9 ~ 2025. 9. 14
Theatre Sinchon
Introduction
The year is 2150.
After the global ban on fossil fuel extraction and distribution was declared in 2046, the “Carbon War” raged for 30 years before the age of fossil fuels finally came to an end. Now, industries are booming with the rallying cry “Waste = Gold,” extracting reusable plastics, rare metals, and more from garbage.
In the waste-filled waters of the Pacific’s Point Nemo, an island had been quietly forming. Trash became lodged on the reefs surrounding a tiny uninhabited island, gradually transforming into land, and before long it had grown into a sizable island. And here, people live—each having come to the island for different reasons, finding ways to survive that differ from those of past humanity.
That is, until fragments of (former) NASA’s OSIRIS-REx probe were discovered in the piles of waste…
Untitled Road
Untitled Road has been creating game-based theatre since 2015, using formats like board games, mobile apps, AR, VR, and spatial sound to expand audience participation. The group values how games motivate action and inspire problem-solving.
Since the pandemic, they have focused on climate issues through the Moving a Forest series—game-base performances exploring how trees and humans might coexist in times of ecological crisis.
Their works question urban life, imagine responses to climate change, and reflect on coexistence with non-human beings, turning performance spaces into places of joy, thought, and dialogue.
