    · Overview

A 2010 romantic story about two strangers of the opposite sex, living together!

Much to complaints from housewives, an internet novel on a shocking theme appeared in 2001.
9 years ago, a prospective writer Yoori Kim was living together with her boyfriend. She collected cute episodes from their life together, then started posting them regularly on the internet site for women in 20s and 30s. The name of this novel was 「The Rooftop Cat」.

    Living Together? How about it?
In contrast to the negative social viewpoint on living together before marriage, the honest and bold The Rooftop Cat received an unexpected outburst of popularity. The episodes were published into a novel, which became a bestseller. The author Yoori Kim said, “Get married once you’ve lived together!”

2003: Two strangers, a man and a woman, living together?!
2 years later, 「The Rooftop Cat」was reinvented into a TV drama. Having recorded 40% public viewing rate and creating countless ‘rooftop cat maniacs,’ the issue of living together before marriage became a hot enough subject to be dealt with in all sorts of TV programs. The drama interpreted such a heavy issue in a light, comic way, and provided an opportunity for the general public to think differently about living together.

2010: What if two strangers of the opposite sex in their 20s lived together?
7 years since then, living together is merely a lifestyle to this cool generation, and not something freak out over as it was back in a few years. Then, what is happening in the rooftop now? What is worth our attention is not the idea of ‘living together’, but on the fun nitty-gritty details of living together.
