In 2004, “FM Pops” in Korea was keep getting a song request from listeners numerous times in a week on ‘this song’. Neat leaf piano and string, harmony with flute. This European ballad was perfectly expressing the feelings of fall. It was Belgium artist Sioen’s Cruisin’. A bit unfamiliar to Korean listeners. However, Cruisin’ was a already a hit which achieved the Gold Sales in Belgium.
Much to our regret, Cruisin’ was only available on the radios. Because the distributor closed Korean branch due to shrinkage in Asian records Market.
Some point in 2006, Cruisin’ was inserted in Beanpole commerical with a Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Henney.


Sioen’s full name is Frederik Sioen, was born in 1979. He came from a musical family. He used to grow up listening to classical music
Around the house, which helped him compose music with guitar and piano at the age of 16. Sioen majored the flute at Ghent, a city known for the most famous university town in Belgium.
Also, Sioen studied African percussion under a renowned jazz musician Chris Joris. It opened his eyes to world of music.
“After graduating school in 2000, I worked making my first demo album as a
pro musician. I use my experiences from live stages over 200 times as a stepping stone of recording the first album in 2003. I was rated as doing ‘
pretty mature music’ at the time. Cruisin’ on my debut album achieved Gold sales in Belgium. Famous movie director Jan Verheyen offered position as a musical director in sequel to his movie “Team Spirit”. Luckyly I was nominated as the best composer of Joseph Plateau Awards at Ghent International Film Festival.”


Sioen seemed to know a lot about Korea from his Korean friends and acquaintances. (He was also very knowledgeable at environment and social phenomenon). Sioen claimed himself as a traveller, likes to travel all the times. He said he could get around on a public transportation without any help in foreign countries.
Sioen was invited from Relief agency for the destitute. He stayed at Soweto for 8 months and released “Calling Up Soweto” in 2007. He learned great adaptability at unknown environment. (“Calling Up Soweto was highly acclaaimed from many European press as ‘a reappearance of Graceland’)

Sioen has been carefully reading all of his fans’ reactions on various SNS services. He is inspired to celebrate and remember all the love and supports from Korean fans by releasing a special album in Korea.


All the 13 tracks are carefully selected from Sioen’s previous albums.
Not to mention the original and solo version of his great hit Crusin’, “See you Naked” from 2003, “Ease Your Mind” form 2005. Self-titled album with World famous Swedish pop-producer Peter Kvint (Kvint has worked with top artists like Britney Spears, Sheryl Crow, Heather Nova, Andreas Johnson and K-pop artist May) from 2012. Sioen has been putting so much effort into his speial Best album. He worked not only on orders of each tracks in album, but also every little details of images in the album.

Sioen had perfectly great time with his Korean fans since Dec, 2012 for the first time of his Live Concert in Korea. April, 2013 followed up the 2nd tour in Korea with violinist Emile and ended up the Europe tour he once again warmed up Koreas major Rock Festival 2013 Incheon Rock Pentaport Festival with his Band members. For rapping up Cruisin activation with his full heart to Korean fans, hes preparing CRUISIN TOUR in Seoul/Busan for the first time of his solo concert especially with his Band members. If you can take a chance to watch and hear his Live Concert just right in front of your eyes, maybe youll also fall in love with his music world and love with Belgium.


“My name pronounces more like ‘Si-un’”. Sioen is very considerate of Korean fans for mispronouciation of his name. “Since most of my Korean fans pronouce my name as ‘Sioen’”.
