▶Gyeongbokgung Palace
Gyeongbukgung Palace is one of the representative palaces in Seoul with more than 600 years of history, boasting the largest scale and architectural beauty. During the Japanese Invasion of Korea, many building in Gyeongbukgung Palace were burned down, so it underwent restoration. However, during the Japanese colonial period, 90 percent of Gyeongbokgung Palace disappeared. But Gyeonghoeru and Hyangwonjeong pond, representative structures of the Joseon Dynasty, remain intact, and the woldae and statues of Geungjeong hall represent the sculptural art of that time, making it the No.1 tourist destination. Although it has a painful history of many buildings demaged by fire and forces, it is well preserving the value of Gyeongbukgung Palace through continous restoration work.
