Endless procession of lanterns inside the temple
This temple boasts a large Buddhist worship hall that can seat more than 10,000 worshippers for worship sessions. Visitors can explore the 53-story stone pagoda housing Buddha's relics, the five-story Buddhist temple, the largest in Korea, and the cypress forest walkway at their leisure. Various experience programs such as temple food lectures, tea ceremony classes, and temple stays are available. In addition, the Chrysanthemum Festival is held every October, and the Lotus Festival is held from July to mid-September. However, the most famous is the Annual Lantern Festival, held from April to May, recognized as one of the 50 most beautiful places in Korea by CNN. With over 40,000 lanterns and a variety of events and activities, it is recommended to visit during this festival.
