Where colorful sounds and dances bring the past to life
National Gugak Center is home to traditional music and dance, as well as contemporary Korean music performances. There are both outdoor and indoor performance venues, and the Pungnyu Sarangbang, where you can take off your shoes and sit on cushions to watch a performance, is a refreshing experience. The music is made with traditional Korean instruments such as the flute, Haegeum, and Gayageum, and the colorful costumes and choreographed dances will remind you of old customs. Special performances are also held for New Year's and holidays, making it a great place to visit with your family and make special memories, and it is a great place to learn about the history of Korean music, traditional costumes, and traditional musical instruments.
