A place teeming with a wealth of things to see and do
It is a permanent market that opened at the same time as the Incheon Port and has a history of more than 100 years. It used to be an international market where Chinese people sold goods to the Japanese. Foreign goods that weren't imported to Korea could be found in this market, and people said, "If you can't find it in Sinpo, you can't find it elsewhere." This is where Jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles) originated, and it is always crowded with tourists who come to enjoy not only Jjolmyeon but also different kinds of food including Dakgangjeong (sweet and crispy fried chicken), dumplings, Gonggal-ppang (crunchy balloon bread), and egg tarts. Another interesting place to visit is a museum called "Shinpo Yetgil," which reproduces what the market used to look like in the past.
