Ilmin Museum of Art
일민 미술관
Tour an art museum highlighting contemporary pieces with deep social themes
Wonderful space for old collections and modern exhibits
This art museum is located in the former headquarters of the Dong-A Ilbo newspaper. The museum showcases old collections as well as photographs, videos, and other works that capture social issues of the time. On the 4th floor is the Documentary Archive, where you can watch documentary films from Korea and abroad, and on the 5th floor is the Newspaper Museum, where you can learn about the history of newspapers and magazines.
Excellent cafe and bookstore to relax and unwind
After visiting the exhibition, you can enjoy a light meal or dessert with a view of the city at Cafe Ima on the 1st floor, and read or purchase books on philosophy, art, and design at Pillar Book Shop. The museum is also located at the beginning of Cheonggyecheon Stream, making it a great place to stroll along the stream after viewing the exhibition.
