Preserving diverse ecosystems at the wetland sanctuary
As Korea's fifth registered Ramsar site, this Oreum was designated as a wetland reserve in 2000. Because it is home to a diverse range of plants and animals, including snakes, it can be safely managed with only two courses: a 1.5-hour staircase course and a 2-hour ridge course. The crater at the summit is filled with water, forming a pond similar to Hallasan National Park's Baengnokdam Lake.
