2025 Cherry Blossom Forecast

Cherry blossoms in Korea start blooming in the south, beginning with Jeju Island and Busan, and usually reach Seoul between late March and early April. Here, you’ll find everything you need to know about the 2025 cherry blossom season, the best spots in Seoul to see them, and charming cafés where you can enjoy the view!

Cherry blossoms are expected to bloom 3–8 days earlier than usual this year. The season kicks off in Jeju on March 22, with blossoms appearing in Seoul around April 1. Peak bloom typically occurs about a week after the first flowers open, so plan accordingly! Since cherry blossom timing is highly influenced by temperature changes in March, actual bloom dates may vary.

In April, Seoul’s average temperatures range from a high of 18°C (64°F) to a low of 7°C (45°F). A cardigan or light jacket is perfect for daytime, but mornings and evenings can be chilly, so a jacket or spring coat is recommended. It’s best to bring a versatile outer layer and something easy to put on and take off for changing temperatures!

The Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival is Seoul’s most famous cherry blossom event, attracting countless visitors each year. Behind the National Assembly Building, a scenic cherry blossom path transforms into a pedestrian-only zone during the festival. Walking through this tunnel of cherry blossoms is an unforgettable experience! The National Assembly Station or Yeouinaru Station are the closest stations to the festival. Step out of Yeouinaru Station Exit 2, and you can enjoy cherry blossoms along the Hangang River.

There are several ways to reach the top of Namsan Mountain, but if you're visiting for the cherry blossoms, I recommend taking the cherry blossom path starting from Namsan Library! The cherry blossoms line the uphill path from the library to Namsan Seoul Tower. While it’s an incline, it’s not a difficult hike — it’s a pleasant walk you can enjoy in sneakers. Along the way, you can enjoy cherry blossoms and a variety of spring flowers, as well as the lush greenery of Namsan Mountain. The occasional green Seoul city bus passing by adds to the feeling of truly exploring the heart of Seoul.

Children's Grand Park, located near Children's Grand Park Station (Subway Line 7), is a municipal park in Seoul. It's just 12 minutes by subway from Seongsu Station and about 20 minutes from Gangnam. Unlike other popular spots like Seokchon Lake or Yeouido, Children's Grand Park offers a more peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxing under the trees and enjoying cherry blossoms. It's ideal for those seeking a more laid-back, local Seoul experience. The park features a zoo, an amusement park, and cherry blossoms throughout. For the best cherry blossom views, Jinddibat Square is a must-visit! Near the square, there's a convenience store where you can relax on a mat and enjoy some ramen or kimbap.

Seokchon Lake, surrounded by cherry blossom trees, is located near Jamsil Station and is easily accessible by public transportation. It’s also close to popular tourist attractions like Lotte World Mall, Lotte World Tower, and Lotte World. The lake consists of West Lake and East Lake, and it takes about 2.5 km to walk around the entire area. Benches are available along the walkway for a comfortable rest. As you walk, the cherry blossoms bloom so beautifully that they seem to cover the sky. If you visit at night, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms illuminated by the evening light.

A multi-cultural space adjacent to Lotte World and Seokchon Lake. The first floor features a cafe, the second floor hosts a media room and lounge, and the third floor contains a cooking studio. With various exhibitions and one-day classes, it's a perfect spot to enjoy cultural activities while admiring the cherry blossoms.

This brunch cafe, located near Daehung Station on Line 6, offers beautiful views of the cherry blossoms blooming along the Gyeongui Line Forest Path through its large windows. The picturesque cherry blossom scenery is perfect for photos. The interior is elegantly decorated with white-toned furniture and vintage items, creating a cozy atmosphere. It serves coffee, brunch, pasta, and wine, making it a great spot for a relaxed dinner as well.

This cafe, located in Haebangchon near Namsan and Itaewon, offers a stunning view through its large windows. You can enjoy cherry blossoms, the scenic Haebangchon neighborhood, and even catch a glimpse of the N Seoul Tower peeking through the trees. The entrance is on the 2nd floor, with the counter and terrace on the 1st floor, and seating on the 3rd floor — a unique layout. For the best photos, head to the 1st floor, or the 3rd floor if the 1st floor is crowded!
