One Day in Seoul
When it gets colder, the comfort food for locals is, without a doubt, winter street food! Hotteok (호떡), Bungeo-ppang (붕어빵) and fish cake make up a popular trio in Korea. If you visit Myeongdong in Seoul, you can find a number of food stalls selling different types of treats, such as grilled abalone topped with cheese. 🥘 Things to Eat!
Hwangsengga Kalguksu
For locals, soup dishes are the most popular meals during winter, which is why we recommend Kalguksu (칼국수) for lunch! Be sure to order Mandu (만두) to pair with your Kalguksu. This restaurant is a hidden gem, as it is featured in the Michelin Guide.
Low Roof
It's only a 10-minute walk from the restaurant. The café features a beautiful view of a Hanok village and offers modern desserts with a touch of Korean tradition. Be sure to try the special seaweed (감태) financier and the green tea & red bean pound cake—unique delicacies you can only find in Korea.
Myeongdong Street Food
On weekdays, food stalls start opening at 4 PM, while on weekends, they open from 1 PM. Grilled chicken skewers (닭꼬치), Korean egg bread (계란빵), and Japchae (잡채), you name it! Also, some of the food items, such as grilled clams, sold on Myeongdong street cannot be found anywhere else in Seoul!

Buckchon Hanok Village
This modern Hanok (한옥) village is a special travel spot even for locals. The quiet and serene atmosphere of the village makes you crave street food. You'll find a variety of souvenir shops hidden in the alleys, so make sure to drop by!
Myeongdong Shinsegae Department Store
You can find beautiful media art on the walls of Shinsegae in Myeongdong. The façade show starts at 5 PM, so if you’ve had your fill of street food, let's head over to the department store!
